What is COP?

The Climate and Health Foundation and a delegation of US physicians attended COP27, raising awareness of the urgent health risks posed by climate change and reminding policymakers and the public to take action.

On Saturday, November 12th, 2022, CHF was proud to co-host, along with GCHA, GCCHE and CUSOM, a Global Climate and Health Networking Reception at Sultan Garden Resorts in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The reception united over 300 members of the health community from COP27 to promote collaboration, brainstorm new ideas, and into the work of colleagues in other nations.

The reception featured prominent speakers, including Dr Omnia El Omrani, first official Youth Envoy for the COP27 President and Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Maria Neira, Director, Public Health, Environment and Social Determinants of Health Department (PHE) World Health Organisation  and  Dr Mustafa Santiago Ali,  Climate & Environmental Justice Activist. Their presentations provided invaluable perspectives on current challenges in the health community related to climate change. We were honored to help facilitate this important event, and we look forward to continuing to foster collaboration and innovation in the future.
